Great Blue Heron from above - Explore
Taken at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. While standing on a ridge watching the shore birds this Great Blue flew by to join the party. oppurtunity shot - I was not planning to take a shot of the shore birds. They were too far away for real detail but were interesting to watch. However, when the heron flew between me and them I had to try something, so I ended up with about 6 - 8 shots of it going over the ridge until its landing in the water. It really was a "better to have somethnig than miss the shot" oppurtunity.
