Calling Wood Frogs

A trio of male wood frogs next to one another in a pond during the mating season. The male in the middle has his vocal sacs inflated as he makes the wood frog call, which sounds a bit like a clucking chicken.

 

These frogs were photographed in Livingston County, Michigan.
