Bug eats frog

Pacific Treefrog (Pseudacris regilla) Natural History

Giant Water Bug

A giant water bug (Lethocerus americanus) eats an adult male pacific treefrog (Pseudacris regilla) at a pond in Napa County, California.

Further studies of the interaction of these bugs and frogs found that large male frogs were much more likely to be eaten by the bugs than small male frogs.
