Italy--WW II (1945)

Supreme Pan film image captured by my father with Leica screw-mount camera and Elmar lens when he was 25 years old. The man on the left was his co-pilot (he died five years ago in New York) and the man on the right was an electronics specialist (he is alive, lives in Alabama, and received from me this print in addition to five others showing him. Boy, was he suprised and shocked to receive them--he'd never seen any of the images before!) This print is startling to view even at 5x7 inches: the immense clarity, sharpness, and tonality are perfection--quite an enormously astonishing finding considering the age of the negative and other factors. My dichroic enlarger performed beautifully! This is a straight print with no manipulations at all.
