Leyland Leopard L1 - Duple Britannia C41F

New to this Operator during November-1961 .

I am unsure exactly what K80 is up to in this shot . But Aunty Ada with Her best Sunday Hat seems determined to climb aboard .

This was taken just before United Counties Omnibus Co . acquired the last of Birch Brothers Stage and Express routes the 203 and 203M . These run from Rushden , Northamptonshire to London , adjacent to St Pancras Station .

Various vehicles ( not this one ) , and the Rushden Garage were also acquired and operated by UCOC .

Birch Bros . continued as a Coach Operator , from its Kentish Town , London , NW5 base , until it was acquired by the Cowie Group in 1971 .
