They're Back
Bald Eagles nest between October and July in Southeast Texas and always return to the same nest. Right on cue I spotted this one this afternoon here in The Woodlands (there are a couple of pairs here). Actually spotted it, had to quickly get home to get my gear and then return - hoping it was still there. I captured this shot handheld with the Sigma 150-500. ISO 400, 1/500, f11. The bird was at least 150 yards from me and so this is cropped quite a bit. Considering the distance I was from the bird, I am pretty happy with the result. This is also my first capture of an adult Bald Eagle.
