The Long walk Galway city
* When I posted images from Ireland, I should have said whilst these are my first images on Flickr from the country, it was not our first visit. We made three trips to Ireland back in the early 1990’s mainly to Co. Cork and Co. Kerry; sadly, the film images from these trips are very poor, not worth scanning
Nack to the 2026 . Galway city was a bit of a disappointment; one or two interesting buildings but otherwise pretty ordinary . The city clearly set out to attract tourists and seemed to be successful in doing so . I much preferred the city of Sligo, which felt like a real community .
However, this view of the houses on Long Walk, which was taken across Galway's harbour, is quite pleasing.
