Hull's Maritime museum reborn
** I have been waiting six years to take this image. The Maritime museum has been covered with scaffolds and screens since 2020. It has had a full refurbishment of both the exterior and interior, costing over £20 million. This meant moving thousands of artefacts out of the building before replacing them. I shall wait to visit till after the school holidays are over, but friends have told me it’s impressive.

On Friday, Hull’s last deep-sea trawler will move down the Humber for the final time . Before being placed in a special dry dock and visitor centre . Hull has made a lot of effort to make the most of its long maritime history . One of the reasons the National Geographic magazine listed it as one of the 20 best places to visit this year.
