Cassis

I am back in England now after a great trip to France. I spent the majority of the time in Provence. However on the way down south I had time to visit a few places I had not seen for some years including my favourite part of France the very lovely Mâconnais area .

 

I hope you are all well and I am sorry I forgot to send you all a postcard, so this image will have to do . The little town of Cassis is just to the east of Marseilles and its a rather charming spot. On the whole we spent our time in the interior of Provence this was our only trip to the Mediterranean coast. The light in Provence is wonderful I can see why those painters from the dark north like Van Gogh and Matisse headed south
