Snow Leopard
This young Snow Leopard looks so huggable, and sweet, but his claws, not so sweet......Mom hovering close by.....we'll just stand way over here and admire.
An adult snow leopard weighs between 77-120 lbs, and has large feet to help it navigate the snow, in it's high elevation territory. It's tail is almost as long as it's body, and is used to help it balance, the same way humans put out their arms to balance. They are heavily camouflaged to protect them in the rocky outcroppings they prefer..
The cats' long, powerful hind limbs help the snow leopard leap up to 30 feet--6 times its body length!
Their fur is thick and woolly to keep it warm in it's harsh cold environment.
Snow leopards live in the high, rugged mountains of Central Asia. Their range extends through twelve countries: Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
These beautiful cats are endangered, mainly due to human activities. (poaching, traditional chinese medicine)

Many thanks for your visits, and comments. I am running a very busy schedule this month and may not get to your streams as often, but I will try to keep up. Have a great day!
