Life Underground (2001) is a permanent public artwork created by American sculptor Tom Otterness for the New York City Subway's 14th Street/Eighth Avenue station, which serves the A, C, E, and L trains. This work is one of the most popular artworks in the subway system. Approximately 25 different figures, each 30 cm (12 in) tall, have been installed in different locations throughout the metro.
