time stood still

Ah, she looks soooo much like Bean in this picture. It really took me by surprise. Even hubby was shocked.

Nadia's textures, again!

definitely worth it

On another note....

I was tagged by Elizabeth to share 16 things about myself. These things are never easy....I can never think of anything interesting I fear! Oh well, prepare to be bored. :)

1. My husband swears I'm a communist. My name is Russian...I don't like apple pie, steak and I've never seen classic movies like Rocky or ET. He thinks he did the math :P

2. I've been with my husband since I was 17 years old. We weren't high school sweethearts (we met the day after I graduated), but I guess it was darn close!

3. I don't drink coffee or tea. Blech! My coworkers think I'm crazy. But anytime I head to a meeting during the day, where I sit in the room depends on who has coffee. I sit furthest away from those people lol.

4. I love to bake. And cook, but baking is my first love. I've had many offers to be paid for my baking (none of which I've ever accepted). Unfortunately I don't have time to do much of either anymore.

5. I am probably one of the most hard-headed people you'll ever meet. My husband never understood it until he met my family (even the family dog is hard headed lol), but what can I say...my mom's Italian (Sicilian at that!) and my dad is Irish!

6. I've loved art since I was a child. I still love to do all kinds of crafts. Scrapbooking, shadow boxes, card making, crocheting....I enjoy it all. Photography was just something I decided to try...it never was supposed to turn out into something I loved. This is why I have no idea who all the "big name" photographers are....and to tell you the truth, once I looked some up, I don't care for any of their work.

7. Even though I'm Italian, I don't really enjoy Italian food. I should say pasta. I'm not big on it. I never tell my Sicilian grandmother though for fear of breaking her heart. :)

8. I have a blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden (FVL). I've had a clot because of it, and nearly lost my leg. It's also the cause of my high risk pregnancies, and also why I won't be having any more kids.

9. I once helped save a baby's life. I was in a group for my FVL and met a woman who was pregnant and planning on aborting because of her FVL problems. During her last pregnancy, she went in to deliver, ended up having to be rushed into emergency surgery where she lost her son and nearly her own life. She was terrified of the same outcome. I talked to her about a pregnancy group I was in for women with FVL and invited her to come and talk to other women with experiences like hers (as this is a complication of FVL) before she made any decisions. She agreed, and was so encouraged by all of the women there she decided to go through with her pregnancy. She now has a healthy son. :)

10. I wish I could be a SAHM. But life doesn't always work out like you plan. We're still working towards it though. But we know it's all in His time. :)

11. I still use my Mei Tai carrier to wear my baby (yes, baby!). Even though she's 3, she's still so light I can use it to carry her. And she loves it. This is the only "crunchy" characteristic I have...all the rest are SO NOT me.

12. I hate cooked fruit. Jelly, pie fillings, cobbler....if the fruit isn't fresh, I don't like it. EWWWWWWWWW! Banana muffins are about the only exception...unless the muffin has chunks lol.

13. I really like hamburgers but usually find them too greasy to enjoy. So I order the chicken, have one bite of someone else's and I'm good. :)

14. My family lives out of state, and I like it that way. I miss them from time to time, but I really enjoy my own space without having to feel pressured to be somewhere when I don't want to be.

15. Christmas is my favorite holiday. :) I love wrapping presents, sitting down and writing out cards and mailing them, holiday baking and even hosting Christmas dinner. Oh and the after Christmas shopping is my FAVE!

16. I do NOT like seafood. If it's lived in water, it does not come into my house. The smell is just nasty. Poor hubby can only get fish or shrimp when we're out to dinner. :(

Umm, I think everyone I know has been tagged....so I'm guessing here as to who hasn't. Nadia? Steph? Jen? Nino if you're on? Ladies...you're it.
