The Last Glow Before the Night

The great citadel by the sea was rarely this silent. Its metallic spires and glass walls, normally buzzing with life, were now muted under a heavy, suffocating sky of bruised purple. An ancient silence had descended, as if the port town had held its breath, waiting for a sign. A sudden fissure in the high, dark heavens unleashed a terrifying blaze of gold, a fire so intense it seemed to bleed a warm, dangerous light onto the cold asphalt. This wasn't a normal sunset; it was a cosmic event, a moment of profound transformation.

Along the main road, the few metal chariots that still traveled were mere specks against the gathering gloom. Their bright eyes cut through the shadow, moving toward the shimmering fracture as if drawn by an invisible force. The city was a stage, and they were the actors, driving unaware toward the boundary between the known world and the impossible light. This was the hour of judgment, where the ancient stone paths met the modern iron trails, and for one brief moment, the city felt a forgotten magic returning to its very core.
