The diesel locomotive 132 088-5 "Ludmilla"
The 132 088-5, later known as 232 088-5, belongs to the well-known “Ludmilla” locomotive family. The Class 132 was built in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and was mainly used by the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn to pull heavy passenger and freight trains. Its boxy shape, powerful diesel engine and distinctive deep sound make it easy to recognize. It became one of the best-known locomotives of East Germany. Many of these locomotives remained in service for decades. The 232 088-5 has been preserved and is still occasionally used for special and excursion trains.
