Escape routes

Not exactly the safest option to have underground evacuation routes in a place like Japan, or it could be the smartest idea on the planet cause that's exactly what nature wouldn't expect. I would try to say there's historical significance but I doubt I could tell a story like that without mentioning Aokigahara which was directly above this. And I ain't Logan Paul we all know that's one of those few things you just shouldn't poke fun at.

So it's come to my attention that this was sitting in reserve for weeks as I edit more of my shots. I know it's in no way my best, so consider this a filler for now. Deep beneath the forests in Fuji Izu is the often advertised Fugaku Wind Cave. I was here at the start of the day for opening and had very little company while shooting inside the tight spaces. There was a lot of magnetic iron in the cave walls, normally this disrupts compasses and phone signals (no wonder the forest has earned it's nickname if the entire undergrowth has this, it's pathetically easy to get lost).

And while I'm aware there was no nice in this particular segment, the passageways going in different directions was enough for me to justify trying.

Now the image is soft because as is usual with dark spaces, you gotta turn your ISO up, that creates noise, which you don't want in shots. Y'know, with all my experiences I've had since I actually realize how novice this is and what I should've done differently to get a sharper image but what's done is done and you gotta make lemonade. In editing I mesh warped nearly the whole image and brought the brightness up. Even with that you can only see the far end of the cave ceiling but hopefully that increases the potential mystery of the shot. Again, I don't expect this one to do numbers, I just realized this edit was sitting on the shelf for a while so I want to get it over with instead of worrying about it for another week.
