“In these Christmas photos, I simply tried to capture the atmosphere I feel in the streets: the lights appearing little by little, the small details that announce the holidays, that mix of anticipation and calm that hits me every year.
They’re simple shots, made with attention and with the pleasure of stopping what often goes unnoticed.
And even though I sometimes enjoy working with color — for me it’s just a lighthearted moment of fun and visual happiness — my real work remains black and white, which is the language where I truly feel at home.”
“In queste foto di Natale ho cercato semplicemente di raccontare l’atmosfera che sento per strada: le luci che arrivano un po’ alla volta, i dettagli che annunciano le feste, quel misto di attesa e calma che mi colpisce ogni anno. Sono scatti semplici, fatti con attenzione e con il piacere di fermare ciò che spesso passa inosservato.
Anche se ogni tanto mi diverto con i colori — per me sono solo attimi di svago leggero e di felicità visiva — il mio lavoro vero rimane il bianco e nero, che è il linguaggio in cui mi riconosco davvero.”
