Not much is known about the owner of this BAC-111, except that he acquired the aircraft in 1979 and sold it in 1988. Registered in Saudi Arabia as HZ-JAM, it was seen idle at Geneva, sporting "Al Jazirah Al Arabiah" titles, which simply translates to "The Arabian Peninsula". The titles were later removed when the aircraft received a much simpler blue and white paint scheme. Despite the similar name, the owner was reportedly not connected in any way to broadcasting company Al Jazeera.
The One-Eleven was built in 1967 for Lanica, and hit the corporate market in 1972, flying for various US companies. After the stint in Saudia Arabia, the aircraft returned to the US and again flew for various corporations. By 1997 it was Liberia-registered, and in May 2001 it became 5N-BDC with Chrome Air Services in Nigeria. Three months later it was destroyed beyond economical repair when it overshot the runway at Libreville after the reversers failed to deploy on landing. The wreckage was finally broken-up at Libreville in 2007.
