*Recently retrofitted + new livery!* VT-ANT Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (Air India)

Air India have just received their first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner back from refurbishment. During the refurbishment, the cabin was changed from a 2 class to 3 class configuration, all seats were replaced with brand new seats and new in flight entertainment systems were installed. The aircraft was also repainted in the new Air India livery at the same time. Read my last paragraph for info on the schedules of the retrofit program!!

Because the refurbished Boeing 787-8s of Air India have a lot of difference (seating) compared to the old ones, this aircraft cannot fly a lot of routes because that would cause booking difficulties.

So now Air India has choose to allocate this aircraft to the London Heathrow- Delhi Indira route, specifically AI2017/AI2018, and some short haul flights connecting places like Bengaluru and Mumbai. So many LHR plane spotters will see this aircraft a lot now, but do remember, this aircraft does not come daily. AI2017/AI2018 flight is daily but the B787-8 only does the route 3 times in a week and the A350 does the route 4 times a week.

VT-ANP is expected to be the next one returning to Air India, now at San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) for repainting. With VT-ANC and VT-NAC now at Boeing’s Modification Center in Victorville, California (VCV) for upgrading cabin. (Cabin upgrade then repainting)
