Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Built in 780 with natural waterfall running through it and listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is by far the most famous temple in Japan as the main wooden building with 13m high pillars supporting a cantilevered platform was built without a single nail.

Seen here was a shot taken in the early hours on a fine spring day.
