Slowly, they cross boundaries that once seemed impossible.

Then came sacrifices.

 

And somehow, the village endured.

Looking the other way.

 

Desperation is the cruelest counsellor.

It has a way of making the unthinkable feel necessary.

 

Generations passed, until eventually no one remembered when the pact had begun.
