Cutting Through the City
EJE 703 leads R967 as it makes its way toward Glenn after working its industries on the far south side of Chicago. 703 is the only EJ&E-painted GP38-2 in existence and is one of only three engines featuring the "J Ball" nose logo, with the rest having white stripes. Knowing this, and being downtown for the trip back, I went for one of the most unique shots with the buildings surrounding the tracks as the train cuts between them. Safe to say, the crew wasn't happy to see us here, but we were able to get away quickly because of the train only being 6 or 7 cars. With a very small patch of sunlight that only came out for a split second, this made for one of my favorite shots I've taken in this part of the city.
