Tidal

At high tide Morecambe Bay holds over 3 1/2 billion cubic meters of water. The tidal range is about 10 1/2 meters meaning there's an awful lot of water sloshing about, creating tidal channels. King tides and winter storms add to the watery chaos. The sea defences are practical as much as ornamental.
