I first saw his screenprint, Cleanliness is next to Godliness at the Tate in London. I later saw his digital collages and drawings at Bradford. Every encounter was profoundly affecting.
His approach to describing space in his paintings is described in his saying, "Everybody looks. The question is, how hard?"
