Life Extension

20-1-25. Preserved EMD AJ16C 42103 is spotted as it hauls TFLE T sets T76 & T128 through Banksia on run 5L12 bound for Flemington Maintenance Centre.

 

The Tangara Fleet Life Extension is a program being undertaken by the NSW Government to extend the lives of the Tangara fleet of trains by a couple more years, this includes several changes to the trains to ensure that they are able to operate for the next couple of years. These changes include the addition of passenger information screens being installed in the cars along with new emergency help points, foldable seating for wheel chairs etc, with them also receiving the corporate orange scheme that Sydney Trains has begun to apply.
