A close up photo of Aurizon owned EMD GT26C LZ3119 being towed by C44ACI ACC6031 on run D456.
It's quite the rare sight to see an LZ class locomotive in Sydney as the majority of Aurizons LZ class fleet is based in WA, but in the case of LZ3119 it had been based out of East Greta in the Hunter Valley.
It would only be when SSR gained the Manildra contract ,it would see LZ3119 along with LZ3114 being brought thorugh Sydney where the pair would be leased and placed as shunters at Manildra's Bomaderry facility. But now it appears that both LZ's are being moved back to WA as LZ3114 would head back a couple months ago and with LZ3119 just being pulled from Cardiff after receiving presumed work, its most likely that it will be making the long run to the other side of the country.
