Brookfield's SD9
GN SD9 1727, still wearing its old Burlington Northern Cascade Green, sits in Brookfield Junction Park near Brookfield Public Library. GN 1727 was originally built as CB&Q 352 in August 1955, and was passed down to BN as BN 6154 til eventually making it to BNSF. In late 2006, the now BNSF 6154 was renumbered to BNSF 1727 to make room for the new ES44ACs being delivered by General Electric, and was eventually put on the GN (General Numbering) roster as GN 1727 soon after in 2010. GN 1727 was donated to the City of Brookfield in October 2017, and has since been on display near the old CB&Q mainline these locomotives once ruled.
