Solving the problem
How does one locate rocks with gold, tin and uranium-bearing black sand bands – see previous photos – when the rocks are covered with dense forest as in this picture? The answer may be in those beach sands. In fact, the sand that we see here on this tiny beach comes from the erosion of the rocks nearby or even distant rocks. So by investigating the mineral content of this sand we may be able to detect the presence of tin, gold and uranium and trace those minerals back to the rocks where they came from.
