On-board activities
Whenever we were sailing during daylight hours, Uniworld organized various activities to keep the passengers from getting bored. More often than not, I would spend that time on the deck looking at the scenery and taking pictures. Unlike on ocean cruises, there is always something to see from the deck of a river-cruise ship. But for me, it was always a toss-up between staying outside on the deck or participating in the activities, as some of these were very interesting and worthwhile. They ranged from presentations on the next port of call, lectures on European history, economics, politics, etc.; games and quizzes; demonstrations of various types such as cooking, arts and craft (shown in this picture is a glass-blowing demonstration); musical recitals (mostly in the evenings), etc.
