Mysterious Button

I ran across this mysterious button and have no idea what it was on or where it came from. It seems to present a scene of some sort. It is about 40mm in diameter and is surprisingly heavy. It is some sort of metal. At first I thought Pewter but it seems too dark for that. It is too hard for lead but perhaps some sort of alloy. Any info would be appreciated.
