What Remains
One of several dugout houses along the small arroyo that meanders from one side of narrow Sego canyon. The Ballard & Thompson Railroad, a spur from the Denver and Rio Grande Western was built by the founders of Sego Ghost Town to transport the coal and crossed the arroyo 13 times. It was the cost of maintaining these trestles that caused the final demise of Sego Ghost Town (aka Ballard and Nelsen) sometime in the early 1950's.
