'CHEONE' (Robert Clark)

Year: 1937

Length: 69'

Strongly built in 1937 in St. Monance, Scotland, designed by Robert Clark and W.E. Forester as 'Tresca' with Marconi cutter. Refitted and restored prior to a Round The World cruise in 1990, returning to Italy in 1992. Whilst in Australia, local old salts recognized her from her previous world cruise in 1960! She spent 1999-2001 in the Caribbean before returning to Italy.

Hull and planking are in very good state. She is planked with the best quality Burma Teak, her structures are strong and oversized .

Cheone is one of the few vintage yachts of her size to have been extensively sailed thanks to her structures and her comfortable accomodation layout. After her second round the world tour (1990) she was refitted again at Cantieri dell'Argentario one of the best known boatyards in Italy. She has twin old but reliable Perkins 90HP engines, always serviced, genset (about 1500hours) and Shenker watermaker (80 l/h).

Deck : Original teak on beams deck from the bow to the aft side of the doghouse in acceptable conditions for the age. Strangely enough, only the aft side of the yacht was redecked at Cantieri Argentario in 1992 on plywood layer over original beams, and it seems that the original part is still in better conditions than what was changed !

Accommodation: Huge Owner's cabin with bathroom ensuite , 2 guest cabins with 2 bunk beds and a crew cabin for 2 .4 bathrooms all together. There is a wide foc'sole with workroom which could be transformed into a crew cabin and therefore you could have 1 more guest cabin. the captain told me also about a plan of making a bigger guest cabin with king size bed...

Comments: Cheone is a very interesting and important yacht which requires a new deck and new systems. Asking: 150.000€
