Georgia Road on the Cumberland Valley

E322 traverses Baxter Junction with empties for Resource, lead by CSX's Georgia Road heritage unit. Our first encounter with the unit was in Etowah over a year prior, yet this reunion carried a little more action than the last. Also notice the blessed actions of the City of Loyall in cutting the trees that plagued this view of Baxter for years. We've missed a few heritage units that have traversed the CV, the 1834 being officially half of the 21 rostered heritage units to pass through, not considering duplicate runs. Having departed Kingsport a little after 1, the consist rolls into Loyall at the edge of dark, pausing briefly to allow Conductor Zac Hendrickson to realign the switch for ML2.

(For those of you curious, as of 10/27/25, the following heritage units have been on the Cumberland Valley in this order: 1976, 1973, 1853, 1827, 1902, 1897, 1836, 1899, 1871, 1852 & 1834. 1850 technically made it onto the CV when spinning the wye in Corbin, though I don't count it myself.)
