The Joerst-Asnat made soul paddles, (wurarnon) for the feast of the bone house (smak cern). Spirits of the dead were honored and the feast formed an initiation moment for young people.
The wuranon is bottomless and therefore cannot sail. The passengers are threatening water spirits. The turtle in the center, with its numerous eggs, represents fertility. The human figures in the canoe represent the deceased on their way to Safan, the Asnat world of the dead.

DeJoerst-Asnat maakten zielenprauwen,(wurarnon) voor het feest van het beenderhuis (smak cern). Geesten van de doden werden geeerd en het feest vormde een initiatiemoment voor jongeren.
De wuranon is bodemloos en kan dus niet varen. De passagiers zijn dreigende watergeesten. De schildpad in het midden, met haar talrijke eieren, verbeeldt vruchtbaarheid. De menselijke figuren in de kan verbeelden overledenen op weg naar Safan, de Asnat-dodenwereld.
