The Existentialist - Giancarlo Ponce
"This painting represents the existential clamor of a creature that sits in the middle of the picture. In that world three eclipses are curiously manifested in a chaotic environment, where the biodiversity of strange creatures abounds, coexisting in disorder, thus unleashing a violent scenario for the main character of the work. He exclaims to heaven by opening his six fingers, as an existential gesture. That expression also symbolizes the absolute horror of that reality that surrounds him. But unaware, beneath that creature, a giant animal emerges from the depths of the ocean to devour it completely. The artist was inspired to see at dawn the stars and the horizon of the sea."
