SDG 11: Rooftop Garden
The UN sustainable development goal I chose to relate my photo to was SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. This goal covers sustainable, resilient, and safe cities and communities.
Green spaces are a form of sustainable infrastructure. These include parks, cemeteries, gardens, and green roofs. Green space have ecosystem services, city benefits, and health benefits. The benefits include improved air & water quality, alleviation of stress, and improved mental and physical health. Green infrastructure is a cheaper and more sustainable method to help reduce flooding and help mitigate extreme weather events to aid current infrastructure.
