MOC 1800

Missouri Central 1800 has command of a westbound train at Creve Coeur Park in Maryland Heights, MO. I'm pretty sure this was 11/8/2004, give or take a day. Missouri Central was the operator of this former CRI&P line from STL to KC after Union Pacific bowed out, which they became involved with by their merger with Southern Pacific.

On this day, a local heading toward Union, MO, had the Cimmaron River passenger car. I'm not sure why.

The saplings on the right have since sprung into much larger trees, and this shot is no longer possible, unless you like bigger trees in your shot. The Missouri Eastern gave way to the Central Midland Railway in the 2000s, which gave way to the current operator, Missouri Eastern Railroad in March of 2022. The bridge has since fallen into a little more state of disrepair, though the current operator seems to be proactive with track maintenance and likely has this on their radar as something to address.
