TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 (APS-C) - Sony α7Ⅱ

I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought a Chinese-made lens.

Well, to be precise, I have used a Chinese lens before—the Seagull/Haiou, a Biotar copy—as an old lens. But I had never used a brand-new, currently-produced Chinese lens. So for me, this is both my first modern Chineas lens and my first non-“old-lens”

lens. I’m getting a little excited.

Speaking of Chinese lenses, there are the famous ones like 7Artisans and TTArtisan, and more recently Viltrox, Brightin Star, and many others—it really feels like a flourishing field now.

Let me skip the middle of the story.

Full-frame or APS-C? Well, for a start, I’ll go with APS-C. And the lens I chose is the TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4. Since it’s a 23mm lens on APS-C, it works out to about 35mm in full-frame terms—perfect!

Well then… let’s see how it turns out.
