Album VII, foto 24b: assalt de la Linea Weygand / Assault of the Weygand Line
IN ENGLISH BELOW THE LINE

This photograph is part of an album made by a member of the Wehrmacht's panzer divisions before and during World War II. It appears that the division in question was the 3rd Panzer. His name was Helmut Guhl and was from Berlin.
Although as we have already said it seems that the author probably "missed" the French campaign in some way or another, in his album there are images of his division between the Somme and the Alps north of Grenoble.
Under this photo the author detailed that it is just before the assault on the "Weygand Line" around Chaulnes. Both a Pz I and a Pz III can be seen, as well as several motorcycles and trucks. The "Weygand Line" was the last French attempt to contain the Wehrmacht in the Somme valley in June 1940. Initially it worked, but within a few days it collapsed.
These are probably photos that some member of the division took.
