Everlasting

EVERLASTING.

A MEDITATION.

I can see you scratching out an existence

On the surface of the earth

You are only one of many

Haven’t you learnt anything at all

Since the day of your birth

Look beyond your comfortable confines

As horizons only narrow the view

In truth your life is endless

You are only on one chapter

With the rest of the book to get through

An endless library awaits you

But perhaps we only earn

What we really deserve

Look at that dog-eared corner

Lift up the page that curves

Open up your vision

And see what you can learn

The soul thrives on recognition

It knows when it is on the right path

Some of us strive for perfection

Others make life hard

The balance of the universe

Tips this way and that

Flexing between good and evil

This equation is a constant

Needing to be solved

It takes courage to achieve it

Determination to evolve

Do you wish to understand?

So let your heart be bold

It’s simple really

Don’t always do as you are told

This tiny crystal pyramid belonged to my mother, and she left it in her effects for me to find after she had passed away. The pyramid is only about 15 millimetres high, and is completely clear quartz crystal. I was with her when she bought it, many years ago, when we visited one of our favourite crystal sellers in their store in the village of Litlington in East Sussex in the UK.

This store is still there, and many of my own collection of crystals has come from this wonderful shop. Much more than a shop, it is an experience! See link below.

This pyramid may be small, but it contains the whole world. The complexities and beauty of geometry are never to be underestimated, as the soul can be guided on its journey by studying these eternal symbols.

But not only that, my mother knew that I would know what she was trying to say by leaving me this tiny pyramid. That deep within each of us, even those of us who are introverted, sensitive people, there is a part of us that is unique, and we can find this within us and find our own way with courage. We do not need the whole world, we just need to find that inner strength to enable us to succeed.

I have paired this piece with “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush, which holds such deep truths within it, such hope.

Beautiful crystals and advice can be found in this wonderful store. I would recommend a visit if you ever find yourself in East Sussex in the UK. See their website for opening times.
