Rustic Music. M. Burr. C 1870.
(voir Your likeness et a shade,6d. M. Burr.

A setting already used by Mr. Burr, as well as the little boy in other series.
(See Your Likeness and A Shade, 6d. M. Burr, among others.) Two versions of this scene, with a recorder and guitar. Two titles: "Melody" on Jonathan Ross's website*
and mine, labeled "Rustic Music." Unsurprisingly, this is Mr. Blurr with his well-centered framing. (This is typical of three-quarters of his work.) The color has aged remarkably well, with just a hint of yellow. But why insist on coloring the cheeks of this little Black boy pink? Generally speaking, Blurr's color work isn't his most successful for an English photographer.
