The Spindle galaxy
The Spindle galaxy - a.k.a. Messier 102 and NGC 5866 - is 50 million light years away in the constellation of Draco. We are viewing the galaxy side on so the galaxy's dust lane can be seen across the disk.
After what seems like months of cloudy skies there's at last a clear night but with a 95% Moon and everyone knows this is useless for astro imaging apart from maybe projects including Hydrogen Alpha narrowband data.
However I thought I'd give the big rig a quick airing to see if it is still working ok. No proper polar alignment, auto guiding horrible and 95% Moon so please forgive the horribly blurry result.
Managed to get 60 x 300s with the C925 and ASI533MC camera but only used 36 of 60 in the stack (3hrs in total).
