The watermill - 3
In the cold north, under the banner of House Austren, the villagers work with hope in their hearts. Wheat, gathered from the fields, is taken to the watermill, where the great wheel grinds it into flour. At the village oven, the smell of fresh bread warms the winter air.
Before the villagers can eat, the lord’s tax is collected, 20% of the bread. Still, children play by the river, peasant bring flour, villagers clear the snow from the roads, and neighbors share what they have. In the north, it is unity that helps them survive the winter.
This is a moc for Féodalis and my participation for Summer joust 2025 "Farms and Fields"
