Technology

Technology has advanced so much that children don't want to play with dolls any more, they wish fro Roblox giftcards and new electronic devices for Christmas. It is scary to see all my younger cousins glued to a screen and going on social media apps at the age of 6 to post videos and selfies. I didn't have an iPad until I was 11, but it was refurbished and payed with money that I saved up for and I got a phone when I was 14 years old. I am glad that my cousins know how to step away sometimes to play games that don't require technology, but its concerning how its driving their attention spans. I always tell myself that when I am a parent, I want a balance between technology and no technology, but society is advancing so much into making life easier with technology based living that I don't know if that is possible. Nonetheless, technology has helped bring my cousins and I close since I get to facetime them once in a while since I live so far away. Especially during quarantine, I didn't see my family for a nearly a year so this was helpful.
