Bug and Midground

This fulfills the bug and midground requirement. The rock fills almost the entire frame because the slug was in the center of it, slowly making its way across, and it was difficult to include the dirt in the background while making the slug seem like the main subject since it’s so small. I focused on the side of the slug because I wanted to capture its shape, color, and texture.

I chose to use f/5.0 because it was gloomy but still bright outside. The 1600 ISO helped brighten the photo too. I used a shutter speed of 1/80 because I didn't want a blurry photo. I used a 50mm lens because I only wanted to focus on the slug.

The original photo was pretty dark so in post-processing, I increased exposure, increased whites, and decreased shadows to brighten the photo. There are also a few white areas so I decreased highlights to lower the brightness on those spots.
