Amtrak's Silver Star has them rolling by Lakeview, NC in May, 1989. This was the former location where the doubletrack over Southern Pines Hill started and ran south thru Southern Pines, Aberdeen and Pinebluff to Addor, near the Richmond County line before the S-Line downgrade and dismantling of much of the siding tracks in 1987-88. Lakeview(Vass)NC May 1989, my photo.
