The Hood - Southern Detail
Not much to do but enjoy the weather while confined to quarters. I like the neighbors old tree so much I thought I might share it with you. I suspect it is older than our house which was built around 1900. This is the southern view from the front porch. Click here for Northern View
My favorite lens is this Canon EF-S Wide-Angle Zoom 10-22mm - F/3.5-4.5 Lens. 10mm has a tendency to stretch things out in the corners and sometimes things appear to be leaning. I thought it was me. Check out that telephone pole. 😆 It actually stands straight-ish.
I watched a YouTube video that said an f-stop somewhere around f/4.0 offers the most detail with most lenses. Hmmm. 🤔 They may have a point. Yes... I leaned on the detail knob in the post production software a bit more than usual - I couldn't resist the temptation.
This wide angle lens also has a tendency to produce chromatic aberrations. Canon offers a software tool to reduce these anomalies in post production, but I find it also removes a small amount of detail. This DSLR camera has 12.2 Megapixels (12 years old) and it is still capable of producing some detailed images.
