Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise (Diphyllodes respublica)

At 6.20 am we witnessed a magnificent show performed by two Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise (Diphyllodes respublica) males displaying in pouring rain. The female came around 7.10 am and while she seemed intrigued by the vibrating "sickles", she preferred to stay dry and left. Raja Ampat. 17th June, 2026.
