This photo was taken in front of the State House during one of the protest days. This is another example of a complex composition. Ed Kashi describes complex photography as lining up the right shot at the right time, but it also tell a story. For this one I was out taking pictures all day for the protest. I turned and noticed a church group praying in front of the state house. I immediately took pictures while they prayed (with permission). The lines and shapes of the pillars along with the shape of the people help center the photograph. And the people praying also align perfectly with the police keeping guard outside. I think that leaves an important question behind this photo.
