Abrams-inspired simple tank concept (2020 build)
One of the first tanks I've ever built with Lego, this is a simple and relatively quick build meant to make use of some old treads I had laying around, as well as prototype the awesome new slope pieces for the front turret armor, which remind me of an Abrams tank.
I researched how tanks work to help build these, which particularly helped with the turret. This is a 2-man tank where both crewmen fit tightly in the turret, while the hull is symmetrical so as to not matter which way the turret is facing.
Featuring working hatches, a medium supposedly gauss cannon with coaxial chaingun, a pair of missile pods, and removable infantry support machine gun, this was a fun build to do in 2 camo schemes. I had to make the light gray turret armor fit in somehow.
Not sure what to call this build, but it is very much inspired by the Abrams tank which has always had a blocky angled style I like. More of a prototype for future builds, it is intended to be incorporated with the rest of my sci-fi designs.
