Pentalexandrine
Pentalexandrine’s Manifesto:
Contrast: The first line of five syllables must present a strong statement or image, while the following alexandrine must respond to or contradict it, creating a marked contrast.
Rhyme: The fifth syllable of the first line must rhyme with the last syllable of the alexandrine.
Metric: The alexandrine must be composed of two hemistiches of six syllables each, with a mandatory caesura in the middle.
Theme: The pentalexandrine should address themes of deep reflection or existential questioning.
Language: The use of at least one archaic or seldom-used word is encouraged to enrich the vocabulary and texture of the poem.
Freedom: If the poem is beautiful, disregard the first five rules
